Yorktown FC was grateful to have York County Deputy Johnny Mercer come out and use his radar gun to measure how fast the kids can kick a soccer ball. We raised approximately $200 to send the donated soccer gear to Honduras.  Finally, we collected 98 food items that have been donated to the York County Food Closet right here in our own community!

YFC PATRIOT BOYS HELPING WITH RELAY FOR LIFE

The gear was distributed in Honduras by a local mission team from Yorkminster Presbyterian Church.  The equipment was handed out in several different communities. Everywhere they went the crowds gathered to touch the cleats and gear.  The distribution was very orderly and for many children this is one of the first times they had any proper gear. Many use a mango for a ball! The teen missionaries were able to connect even more with the kids in Honduras because of the gear--and many pick up games ensued. It was even more exciting as the World Cup was going on. The generosity of the team from The  Estados Unidas spoke loud and clear and the people of Honduras were very grateful!
